construction and infrastructure market: the gap between commercially attractive tenders
and technically defensible estimates.
The practice was founded by a senior estimator with over a decade of experience
delivering priced work for complex civil engineering and infrastructure projects across
the UK. This experience spans highways, earthworks, drainage, utilities, reinforced
concrete, and multi-disciplinary enabling works, supporting projects from early design
development through competitive tender and into delivery.
Throughout this career, a consistent pattern emerged. Too often, estimates were driven
by speed, template pricing, or historic rates applied without sufficient interrogation
of scope, risk, or buildability. The result was predictable: under-priced work,
uncontrolled risk exposure, and reactive commercial management downstream.
